Strasbourg Hosts a European Forum for Environmental Defenders from June 3 to 4

From June 3 to 4, Strasbourg will host the first edition of the European Forum of Environmental Human Rights Defenders at the Council of Europe. Nearly 400 participants from across Europe will gather to discuss the protection of individuals and organizations that peacefully advocate for environmental causes.
Over the two-day event, activists, researchers, representatives of international institutions, associations and public officials will explore ways to strengthen existing protection mechanisms and support environmental defenders more effectively.
Several related events will also take place in Strasbourg, including a round-table discussion at the University of Strasbourg and a screening of the documentary Climate Justice, followed by a debate.
This major event highlights Strasbourg’s role as a European capital for dialogue, human rights and environmental issues.
The Council of Europe is easily accessible via tram lines E, stop “Droits de l’Homme”.
